That is unusual enough to warrant posting. What really makes this special is the network that gave what may be the fairest interview he's had is Al Jazeera

Lovely interview, I love how it didn't degrade into a religion vs science fight.
I couldn't believe that caller, though - WWII came about because of belief in evolution? WTF?

I couldn't believe that caller, though - WWII came about because of belief in evolution? WTF? You'd be surprised how many people believe that. The new-ish "documentary" Expelled certainly didn't help things either. I swear, since that movie came out I've had to tell so many people in my town of it's ridiculous logic and plain out lies (I'm kinda the town atheist [yeah, I know that's sad, but I live in Kentucky...]).

I'd not heard of that but just looked it up - sounds funny.
If I'm reading it right the film makes out that Evolution is a great conspiracy. That sounds like great fun.
Scientist1: Lets use all our cunning and resources to perpetrate a lie around the world. When the people believe it they will be condemned to hell.
Scientist2: Why?
Scientist1: Because it will be funny.
Of course, I can be flippant as I don't regularly come into contact with people who believe something along those lines.
That might switch it from frivolous to incredibly infuriating.

I'd vaguely heard of that movie, but just watched the trailer now:
Holy s**t!! People are DUMB!! This guy making the movie, he's a freakin' moron! I almost want to watch this show, if only to sit in awe at some people's backwards and twisted beliefs.
I love/hate how the narrator describes the situation as though free speech isn't tolerated. Ridiculing someone for spouting nonsense is not a violation of anyone's free speech!
