Secondly, when I posted it, I did so facetiously. I took the photo and uploaded it in like 30 seconds. I was hoping someone would say "Ermmm, what the hell is it?" But no one did. Instead it got lots of upvotes! It is a piece of PVC pipe I had to repair the lawn irrigation system.

Not at all. Virtually any photo you see published anywhere is "tweaked" in one way or the other (including... all of mine in this thread). It used to be manual dodging, retouching and stuff with analogue pics - today it's Photoshop. No big deal.
