Science Leads To Killing People! Posted: 3 years ago by 2manyusernames
In an interview with the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Ben Stein had these insane things to say:
Stein: [...]I was thinking to myself the last time any of my relatives saw scientists telling them what to do they were telling them to go to the showers to get gassed
...Love of God and compassion and empathy leads you to a very glorious place, and science leads you to killing people.

As mentioned, he lost my respect with the whole 'Expelled' crapumentary.
Edit to add...Shocking how many of 'his people' are scientists!

Agreed.... I have always respected Ben Stein... until now... to attack science itself? How about we just climb back into the trees and fling poo at each other till the apocolypse...

Did Ben Stein suddenly develop a hardcore heroin addiction? What the hell?

I saw a youtube video yesterday that commented on this.
Unfortunately, the author doesn't comment on the irony of Stein's condemnation of the "Evils of science" on TV and in the movies, neither of which would exist if it weren't for science.

Wow! Ben Stein is out of his mind.
I knew he had more to say than just "Beuller, Beuller, Beuller..."
I guess now I know how he got into the Nixon administration.

Speaking as one of 'his people', and as a research science in the biological field... I'm just saddened. Especially because the Rabbi's do teach that scientific research and understanding... is... GOOD!
Sigh, Ben Stein. I used to think of you so highly.
Oh, and those "scientists" telling your relatives to go to the showers... weren't really scientists. They were madmen blindly following a deified leader because they believed whatever he said. Hmm...

Sadly, where I go to school, most of the teachers went out to see Expelled. Most loved it and have been spouting off random pieces of it at me for the past week or so. As much as I love refuting the many ridiculous arguments and claims of that movie, it does get old. It's amazing when the people who are supposed to be teaching you just don't understand what's so wrong about letting Yahweh into the classroom, and why evolution is so accepted in the scientific community even if it goes against their "beliefs".
As for Ben Stein, he ranks right up there with Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort on the religious moron scale.

I will never understand the ignorance of some people. Shutting your eyes to the advances of modern science because of a few disasters in it's name is akin to turning away from Christianity because people were being persecuted and killed for believing in it.

I don't know guys, I kind of agree with Stein here. Modern, mechanized warfare only exists because of science. But science isn't the only culprit. For instance, water leads to drowning. How can you drown if there's no water? "Help, I'm flailing around in this depression in the Earth!" "Why are you doing that?" "I don't know...Hey wait, it must be all this water all around me." Thanks, water!
Also, food leads to choking, having lungs leads to lung disease, and being born leads to death. Think of how many more movies this guy needs to make!
