Hatred is over-suspected in most atrocities; all you need is mistrust and a "do unto others before they do unto you" attitude.

It's jaded, but there is a great amount of truth in that. I would only try and add the phrase "fear of the 'other'" into the equation, although it's already been implied.

I disagree, the answer to the question is "Money/Power" Maybe on a narrow or local view he's right, but in general, the war doesn't begin with hatred, it is just a natural sequence in the event. Stupid professors, I hate them.
