 Koch-brothers-funded study confirms climate change
Koch-brothers-funded study confirms climate change
a new and methodologically interesting study, carried out by people some of whom might have been expected to take a somewhat sceptical view on the issue, seems essentially to have confirmed the results of earlier work on the rate at which the earth’s temperature is rising.

Science and facts won't make a lick of difference to the far right. It doesn't matter how many studies you do, who funds them, or what conclusions they draw, there are still going to be stubborn conservatives that say "global warming is a hoax".

Hell, even darlings of the right like President George W. Bush and Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch have gone on the public record and said that climate change is for real. Scientific facts don't matter to some people, especially in a country where creationism vs. evolution is an ongoing debate.

Um, I don't think there are many people left arguing that climate change or warming isn't happening. The climate & temp is, always has, and always will be changing.

The big debate is about the impact humans are having on it, not whether its happening.

The far left seems to think every little human action has dire consequences for the planet ... while the far right doesn't think anything makes a difference (and wouldn't give a s**t if did).

I find it offensive how confrontational and aggressive people are towards anyone who is skeptical. This isn't something you can accurately model or really ever prove ... so to mock or intimidate anyone for skepticism is irresponsible.

Skepticism is one thing, stupidity is another. Climatechange HAS been accurately modeled, within a 95% accuracy. It has been since the early nineties, but people STILL dismiss it, plainly because of their political views.
Not only that, they used lies and deceitfull tactics to do so ( as shown in the so called "climategate")

Keep ignoring science and it will bite you in your ass.

University of Massachusetts at Amherst’s Political Economy Research Institute, shows Koch Industries as one of the nation’s top 10 polluters/emitters. See detailed emissions breakdowns - www.peri.umass.edu/toxic_index

A March 2010 Greenpeace report shows that Koch Industry foundations have contributed (2005-2008) nearly $25 million to organizations that oppose clean energy and climate policy. That does not include oil and gas lobbying of $37.9 million. For more info on Koch Industries' funding of Climate Denial Groups -- See GreenPeace's report "Koch Industries Funding the Climate Denial Machine" www.greenpeace.org

They can't predict the weather tomorrow with 95% accuracy, but you're certain that they can do it centuries ahead? Cmon now. You've got some nerve to call people stupid with that kind of stupid blind trust.

This is "science" too, thus 'you'd have to be stupid to believe global warming'. At least that's your logic.

The "weather" is not the same as "climate". Learn the freaking difference. The weather is a chaotic thing, and extremely hard to predict. The climate is what weather averages out to be after years and years of data collecting, is a very stable factor and thus easier to make predictions with .

I don't have blind trust, you are the one with blind scepticism, fueled with alot of ignorance. Go to school, heck, watch the discovery channel, but stop bulls**tting and being skeptical about something you dismiss directly out of hand, because you think it is some leftwing conspiracy thing, instead of cold hard credible, extremely well researched SCIENCE.

Heck, the guys who of all things were dismissing the thing, now say the same, because they did the science.

EDIT
Oh the infamous hockey stick graph. It was settled in court that it was bulls**t crappy science, by using the same data nonetheless. So you believe a discredited study more then the thousands that say the opposite?
Peer reviews are there for a reason, to keep errors like these out of the science.
